SCAE courses

Alongside our own courses at the BBA you can follow courses from the SCAE. SCAE is an abbreviation for Speciality Coffee Association of Europe. The Buscaglione instructors are certified SCAE instructors (AST) and may teach according to the official SCAE method. At the end of each course you take an exam and can earn the recognised SCAE certification.

SCAE Foundation is the basic training from SCAE. The most important barista skills required to make good espresso and cappuccino are covered: the characteristics of an espresso machine and the adjustment of the grinder, grinding, dosing and tamping, over-extraction and under-extraction, how to taste coffee, flavours and body and foaming technique. Hygiene, cleaning and maintenance.

Course Length: 1 day, followed 2 weeks later with a 1 hour exam
